Dierks Man Killed in Head-On Collision with Semi on Highway 70

A 27-year-old Dierks resident, Alex Dean Faulkner, was killed Wednesday morning, Oct. 22, in a tragic head-on collision on U.S. Highway 70 near Kirby. According to the Arkansas State Police, Faulkner was driving east in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala when he attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with an oncoming Kenworth tractor-trailer. The crash occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. under clear skies and dry road conditions. His body was transported to Wilkerson Funeral Home following the fatal impact.

This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of caution and patience on the road. Even in ideal weather conditions, a single misjudged passing maneuver can lead to devastating consequences.
