A major crash on the Interstate 10 bridge near Lake Charles has forced authorities to shut down all lanes of traffic in both directions, bringing one of Louisiana’s busiest freight corridors to a complete stop. The incident occurred near Milepost 28 in Calcasieu Parish, prompting a large emergency response as crews worked the scene and assessed the situation. Officials confirmed that both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed while first responders managed the crash and secured the area.

The closure has created significant disruption for motorists and the trucking industry, as this section of I-10 serves as a key route for Gulf Coast freight and cross-state transportation. With traffic halted in both directions, drivers traveling through the region are expected to experience major delays and detours while authorities continue clearing the scene. Officials are advising travelers and long-haul drivers to adjust their travel plans until the interstate can safely reopen.
